}}David Glencross Slimmon MM (2 August 1895 – 23 July 1917) was a Scottish footballer who played in the Scottish League for Dumbarton and Kilmarnock.[1][2]

Personal life

Slimmon served as a second corporal in the Royal Engineers during the First World War.[3] He was awarded the Military Medal in 1916 for storming a machine gun nest and ensuring his comrades' safety.[3][4] Slimmon was killed in action in the Ypres Salient on 23 July 1917 and was buried in Hop Store Cemetery, Vlamertinge.[3][5]
