He won a silver medal for Georgia at the 2012 Olympics and placed third at the 2011 World Championships.[3][4][5] After winning a European title in 2008, Modzmanashvili tested positive for a banned substance. He was stripped of his gold medal and received a two-year suspension.[2] In January 2019, Modzmanashvili tested positive for a prohibited substance of dehydrochlormethyltestosterone after stored samples from the 2012 Olympics were re-analysed. He was subsequently stripped of his Olympic silver medal.[6] References{{Commons category|Davit Modzmanashvili}}1. ^[https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/mo/davit-modzmanashvili-1.html Davit Modzmanashvili]. sports-reference.com {{DEFAULTSORT:Modzmanashvili, Davit}}2. ^1 2 [https://en.asiangames2018.id/athletes/athlete/MODZMANASHVILI-Davit-3000995/ Davit Modzmanashvili]. asiangames2018.id 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.london2012.com/athlete/modzmanashvili-davit-1072395/|publisher=www.london2012.com|title=Davit Modzmanashvili Profile London Olympics 2012|date=7 September 2012}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2012/08/11/azerbaijan-takes-2-wrestling-wins-taymazov-golden-again/|title= Azerbaijan takes 2 wrestling wins; Taymazov golden again |publisher=Fox News|date= 11 August 2012 |accessdate=7 September 2012}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/london-olympics-2012/news/Lonon-Olympics-Varner-wins-96kg-freestyle-gold-for-US/articleshow/15461790.cms?prtpage=1|title=London Olympics: Treble for Artur Taymazov as Azerbaijan double up|publisher=Times of India|date= 12 August 2012 |accessdate=7 September 2012}} 6. ^[https://www.olympic.org/news/ioc-sanctions-one-athlete-for-failing-anti-doping-tests-at-london-2012 IOC sanctions one athlete for failing anti-doping tests at London 2012] 13 : 1986 births|Living people|Wrestlers at the 2012 Summer Olympics|Male sport wrestlers from Georgia (country)|Olympic wrestlers of Georgia (country)|Olympic medalists in wrestling|World Wrestling Championships medalists|Wrestlers at the 2018 Asian Games|Medalists at the 2018 Asian Games|Asian Games bronze medalists for Uzbekistan|Asian Games medalists in wrestling|Doping cases in wrestling|Sportspeople from Georgia (country) in doping cases |
