ReceptionLike many American films of the time, Daybreak was subject to cuts by city and state film censorship boards. For example, the Chicago Board of Censors cut two intertitles, "Now I know the truth — you have a child and Dr. Brett is the —" and "Yes and I know who's the father", and a shooting scene.[5] References1. ^{{cite book |title=Evelyn Brent: The Life and Films of Hollywood's Lady Crook |first=Lynn |last=Kear |year= 2009 |isbn= 978-0-7864-4363-5 |page= 130}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.afi.com/members/catalog/DetailView.aspx?s=&Movie=17063|title=Detail view of Movies Page|website=www.afi.com|accessdate=November 22, 2017}} 3. ^The Library of Congress/FIAF American Silent Feature Film Survival Catalog:Daybreak 4. ^{{cite journal |title=Reviews: Daybreak |journal=Exhibitors Herald |volume=6 |issue=4 |page=25 |publisher=Exhibitors Herald Company |location=New York City |date=January 19, 1918 |url=https://archive.org/details/exhibitorsherald06exhi}} 5. ^{{cite journal |title=Official Cut-Outs by the Chicago Board of Censors |journal=Exhibitors Herald |volume=6 |issue=5 |page=33 |publisher=Exhibitors Herald Company |location=New York |date=January 26, 1918 |url=https://archive.org/stream/exhibitorsherald06exhi#page/n216/mode/1up}} External links
