History

According to local legend, this village was founded 1500 years ago by a man named Shri Dhaul Singh and was named after him. In 1780 he was looted by the Sikhs. In 1857, this village became a theater scene of India's first Independence War, in which the 14 local men lost their lives. Their bodies were buried (burying in Hindu religions was forbidden) by the English Officials with the 14 dogs, only to give a threatening message to the local people.
