The forewings are silvery grey with a fulvous-orange base. There is a wavy black line with an orange blotch at the costa. The hindwings are silvery grey with five black marginal spots, separated by metallic scales and shaded with dull orange.[3] Adults are on wing from May to September. The larvae feed on Opuntia species, mining in the joints of the cactus pads.[4] References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://globiz.pyraloidea.org/Pages/Reports/TaxonReport.aspx |title=GlobIZ search |website=Global Information System on Pyraloidea |accessdate=2014-07-15 }} {{Taxonbar|from=Q13590478}}{{Glaphyriinae-stub}}2. ^mothphotographersgroup 3. ^[https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/2576969#page/133/mode/1up Dyar, H.G. 1908.
