Dino Jelusic (born 4 June 1992) is a Croatian rock singer, musician and songwriter. He is the lead singer in the band Animal Drive. In 2016 he entered Grammy Awarded American band Trans-Siberian Orchestra founded by late Paul O'Neill (rock producer) along with Mats Leven. After the first tour he became a permanent member.

Jelusic has also worked with Gus G., Mike Mangini, George Lynch, Will Hunt, Jeff Scott Soto, Steve Smyth, Jon Oliva, Kip Winger, John Macaluso, Deen Castronovo, Phil Demmel and others. He was the first winner of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003 which took place in Copenhagen on 15 November 2003.[1]

Biography

1998–2003

Since he was born in Požega on 4 June 1992 Dino lives in Zagreb. He started performing at the age of 5 appearing in a lot of stages and festivals since 1998.

Between 1998 to 2003 he won 10 international festivals in Egypt, Spain, Lithuania, Portugal, Italy and Romania.

2003–2005

In 2003, Dino participated in the first Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Ti si moja prva ljubav" and won with 134 points, leaving Spain in the second place with 125 points.

He released his first album No. 1 in 2004 and toured America, Scandinavia and Australia during 2004-2005. In 2004 he became the youngest nominee of Croatian music award Porin at the age of 12. In 2005 he was one of the three main acts on Langeland festival in Denmark along with UB40 and Ronan Keating.

2008–2011

In 2009, Dino started recording his new album in Melbourne, Australia, with ex Joan Jett, David Bowie, Toto & Paul McCartney producer Mark Berry but finalized it with Swedish producer [https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Ahrling Robert Ahrling] in Malmo, Sweden. The album was released worldwide in August 2011 and was titled Living My Own Life where he started his rock orientated career.

2012–2016

Dino was a part of a big international project in South Africa called Synkropation. The concept of the project is the album that is made of collaborations of different artists, including Dilana, Mandoza, Cindy Alter, Stewart Irving, Yvette Barnyard, Wake to wonder... In 2016 Mandoza died from cancer so the collaboration Mandoza/Dino Jelusic will be released posthumously. In 2014 he got 2nd place on Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk. After that festival Dino started having problems with his voice. In September he went under surgery for Reinke's edema. During his vocal problems he recorded first album of his own, composed by himself, where he played all the instruments on several songs. On 7 November, Dino released Conceptual album called Prošao sam sve. It is an album based on book 260 days by author Marijan Gubina, story about 10-year-old boy who survived 260 days being imprisoned in war camp during Croatian war of independence. In the early 2015. John Macaluso was looking for a singer and keyboardist in his new band Stone Leaders and Dino˝jumped in and recorded the album. He was also invited to do Burn the sun tour with new formation of Ark to fulfill spot of Jorn Lande.

Dino was also member of Metalcore band The Ralph with whom he released debut album Enter Escape.

He won New Wave in Sochi, Russia, the biggest singing contest in the world.

Dino also took part in Trans-Siberian Orchestra 2016 winter tour and becameg permanent member of TSO in 2017.

Dino is currently performing with his band Animal Drive. They signed a record deal with Frontiers Records in early 2017.

Bite!, released in February 2018 became the most selling New Breed Rock album in Brasil in 2018, only 2 months after release.

Jelusic did a 2018 tour with Steve Smyth (Nevermore, Testament) and his band One Machine and performed Nevermore songs that were never played live, as a tribute to Warrel Dane who passed away on December 13th in 2017.

In January 2019. Frontiers Records announced that there's a new project coming in late 2019 that includes Dino Jelusic (Animal Drive), George Lynch (Dokken) & Will Hunt (Evanescence). The name of the band/project is Dirty Shirley.
