}}Diospyros ferruginescens is a tree in the Ebenaceae family. It grows up to {{convert|36|m|-1}} tall. Twigs dry to black. Inflorescences bear up to nine flowers. The fruits are roundish, up to {{convert|2.5|cm|0|abbr=on}} in diameter. The specific epithet {{lang|la|ferruginescens}} is from the Latin meaning "becoming rusty", referring to the indumentum. Habitat is forests from sea-level to {{convert|1500|m|-3}} altitude.
