It grows up to {{convert|35|m|-1}} tall. The twigs are slender to stout. Inflorescences bear up to 12 flowers. The fruits are round to ovoid, up to {{convert|3.5|cm|in|0|abbr=on}} in diameter. The specific epithet {{lang|la|pilosanthera}} is from the Latin meaning "with pilose or hairy anthers".
