The single-story frame structure is located on the peak of Dodger Point above the timber line at an elevation of {{convert|5753|ft|m}}.[2] Measuring {{convert|14|ft|m}} by {{convert|14|ft|m}}, it is clad in wood clapboards and has a simple pitched roof covered with wood shakes. Large windows on all four sides are covered by awning-style wood shutters. It was built by the U.S. Forest Service in what was at the time Olympic National Forest, possibly with assistance from the Civilian Conservation Corps. During World War II, the lookout was used as an Aircraft Warning Service station. Dodger Point and Pyramid Peak Lookout are the only such stations remaining in Olympic National Park out of thirteen constructed.[3] The Dodger Point Lookout was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 13, 2007.[1] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{NRHP in Olympic NP}}{{National Register of Historic Places in Washington}}2. ^{{cite web|title=Dodger Point Lookout|url=http://www.firelookout.com/wa/dodgerpoint.html|publisher=firelookout.com|accessdate=23 March 2011}} 3. ^{{cite web|last=Evans|first=Gail E.H.|title=National Register of Historic Places Registration Form: Dodger Point Fire Lookout|url=https://fortress.wa.gov/dahp/wisaard/documents/RN/0/4/4637.pdf|publisher=National Park Service|accessdate=23 March 2011|author2=Toothman, Stephanie|author3=Luxenberg, Gretchen|origyear=1986|year=1998|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120315064455/https://fortress.wa.gov/dahp/wisaard/documents/RN/0/4/4637.pdf|archivedate=15 March 2012|df=}} 11 : Government buildings completed in 1933|Towers completed in 1933|Park buildings and structures on the National Register of Historic Places in Washington (state)|Buildings and structures in Olympic National Park|Buildings and structures in Clallam County, Washington|Fire lookout towers in Washington (state)|Civilian Conservation Corps in Washington (state)|Aircraft Warning Service|Military facilities on the National Register of Historic Places in Washington (state)|National Register of Historic Places in Clallam County, Washington|1933 establishments in Washington (state) |
