It was written by the band's lead singer Adam Levine together with the producer Shellback. "Doin' Dirt" is a disco and electropop song with high energy and beat-driven elements. Following the release of the album, due to strong digital downloads, the song peaked at number 15 on the singles chart in South Korea. Background and production"Doin' Dirt" was written by Maroon 5's lead singer Adam Levine together with Shellback, who produced the song.[1] Shellback also co-produced the lead single from Overexposed, "Payphone" together with Benny Blanco.[1] "Doin' Dirt" was recorded at Conway Studios in Los Angeles and MXM Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, by Noah "Mailbox" Passovoy and Shellback.
