}}Don Estaquio or Don Eustaquio Hofileña Memorial Elementary School is a public school at Silay City. It is one of the second ecological school at Silay City because of its neat and cleanliness of surroundings. It was the name given to the school in honor of the school owner's lot. It occupies a portion of the lot that was initially donated to Silay South Elementary School.

History

The school opened in 1980 after the Silay City National High School that transferred to the new location besides it. The school started as an extension class of Silay South Elementary School with some five teachers initially hired. In 1980, there was a move making the school as an independent one and given the name Don Eustaquio Hofileña Memorial Elementary School with its first own principal, and her name was Mrs. Mutya Jaranilla Arceo. The school has then 9 teachers and its served as an absorber of excess class and excess enrollment from other schools like Silay North Elementary School, Silay South Elementary School and Emilio Gaston Memorial Elementary School. The building was those inherited from the former Silay City National High School.

Present

Years passed and school slowly grew to what it is today with twenty two teachers, one nationally funded utility and a principal and an enrollment that fluctuates from 670 to 613 pupils by each school year. It is decreasing enrolling students after it was no originality.

There is no over crowding of pupils in the school because even though the buildings and rooms are old and mostly needs repair, these are still usable and can serve its purpose though not ideally.

Now some administration other your humble servant is trying its best to rehabilitate and improve the excising physical aspect of the school, pending the repairs requested from the city government and national office. Meanwhile, physical improvements are continued including the landscaping which desirous to improve the schools appearance. It is painted with Orange and Yellow theme colors of the school, many kinds of trees and plants planted around the school and the new blocks which creates ideal and great designs as well as the new stand name of the school that funded by the councilor.
