Bhuiyan Iqbal Dr Bhuiyan Md. Iqbal (ভূঁইয়া মো. ইকবাল) (Born : 22 November 1946)is a researcher. He served as a faculty in the Department of Bengali at the University of Chittagong for 40 years. EducationAfter passing SSC from the West and High School, Dhaka and HSC from the Dhaka College, he enrolled in the BA (Hons.) course in the Department of Bengali at the University of Dhaka. He completed his masters degree from the same institution in 1970. He received a scholarship from the Indian Government and went to Kolkata. He received his PhD degree from the University of Calcutta. Professional CareerHe held the positions of D.U. Correspondent, Sub-editor and Staff Correspondent at the Dainik Pakistan / Dainik Bangla, 1968-73. After completing his MA from the University of Dhaka, he joined the University of Chittagong as a faculty. He was the house tutor of A.F. Rahman Hall of that institution for 2 years (1979-1980). He was the Chairman of the Department of Bengali at the University of Chittagong from 1995-1997. He retired from his service on July 2012. He is currently on post retirement leave.
