Hellenic Electronic Center (HEC) www.Greece.org was Founded on March 1, 1995[https://www.greece.org/hec/press/960501e.html]  , by a group of Hellenes (Greeks) of the Diaspora[Greek_diaspora]. The Hellenic Electronic Center (HEC) is a volunteer, non-profit, non-partisan organization[https://www.greece.org/hec/admin/finance/gov/DE-Certificate-of-Incorporation.pdf] which has as its main objective is to promote the Hellenic[Hellenic] culture and civilization through the Internet while establishing a network among Hellenes, Philhellenes, and Hellenic organizations around the world.[https://www.greece.org/hec/admin/public/HEC-Overview.pdf]

HEC offers free Internet services to non profit, Hellenic organizations. It also collaborates with individuals and institutions to create and publish projects with Hellenic content.[https://www.hri.org/info/articles/97-01.eng.html] Members of HEC are volunteers around the world, mainly Greeks of the Diaspora who want to preserve and distribute their cultural heritage. Its daily operation is carried out via the Internet.

Mission - Our mission is to establish a sound, well organized, useful, and highly visible presence of Hellenism on the Internet, providing the means to disseminate information about Hellenism and make available free Electronic services to other Hellenic non-profit organizations and projects focusing on cultural and educational aspects.

Purpose - The purpose of the Center is to organize, house and distribute historically, and academically, accurate information regarding all aspects of the Hellenic (Greek) civilization, past, modern, and future, worldwide through electronic communications networks; particularly, through the Internet[https://www.greece.org/hec/admin/public/HEC-Overview.pdf]. The Center's purpose expands to provide Internet hosting services[Internet hosting service] to other non-profit organizations and participate in various projects related to Hellenism[https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hellenism]. The Hellenic Electronic Center has, therefore, established computer servers under the domain name www.greece.org [http://www.whois.com/whois/greece.org].

Organization Status - The Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization under Federal ID: 51-0377653 registered in the State of Delaware of the United States of America [https://www.greece.org/hec/admin/finance/gov/DE-Certificate-of-Incorporation.pdf]. In 2002, IRS verified HEC's 501(c)(3) status of the organization [https://www.greece.org/hec/admin/finance/gov/501-c-3.pdf]. HEC has also achieved the Gold Star of Transparency by GuideStar [https://www.guidestar.org/profile/51-0377653]. The Center is a non-partisan organization, without any preference, or affiliation for any given politically-aligned ideology or political party. All Center Volunteers and Officers are working strictly voluntarily and without any monetary compensation for their efforts. Funding of the Center is sought from individuals, grants, and sponsor organizations or companies.
