释义 |
Leslie Durbin Leslie Durbin was a British silversmith who designed silverware and coins. He was perhaps best known for honouring the citizens of Stalingrad. He was the silversmith of choice for institutions looking for commemorative maces, processional crosses, plates and other items. In 1943, aged 30, he decorated the Sword of Honour, commissioned by King George VI, deemed the "highest-profile British sword since Excalibur" and designed by the Professor R. M. Y. Gleadowe. The sword was presented to Josef Stalin at the 1943 Tehran conference with Churchill and Roosevelt. ReferencesExternal links
