The specific epithet {{lang|la|papillosum}} is from the Latin meaning "pimpled", referring to the leaf surface when dry.[2]DescriptionThe tree grows up to {{convert|6|m|-1}} tall. The bark is grey-green. The fruits are orange-red, pear-shaped, at least {{convert|3|cm|in|0|abbr=on}} long.[2] Distribution and habitatDysoxylum papillosum is found in Peninsular Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo.
