Earl William Schmidt (born March 11, 1936) is an American jurist and politician. Born in Birnamwood, Shawano County, Wisconsin, Schmidt graduated from Birnamwood High School. He then received his bachelor's degree in political science and master's degree in agricultural economics and public administration from University of Wisconsin–Madison and his law degree from University of Wisconsin Law School. He practiced law and was a farmer. Schmidt was also district attorney for Shawano and Menominee Counties. He served as chairman of the Town of Richmond Board and was a Republican. Schmidt then in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1975 to 1983.[1] In 1984, Schmidt was elected Wisconsin Circuit Court judge for Shawano and Menominee Counties.[2] Notes1. ^'Wisconsin Blue Book 1981-1982, Biographical Sketch of Earl W.
