East Arkansas Community College (EACC) is a community college in Forrest City, Arkansas in the Arkansas Delta. The catalyst for the school's founding was a 1971 donation by Betty Jo Hodges, which allowed for the purchase of a 40 acre campus site. St. Francis County voters approved a tax increase in 1973, which funded capital construction at the site. The college began holding classes on August 26, 1974. 684 students were enrolled for the initial semester.[1] In 2005, the school opened an extension center in Wynne. Arkansas State Representative Marshall Wright, a lawyer in Forrest City, is a member of the EACC Foundation Board. Enrollment for the 2016-17 school year was 1,368 students [https://www.usnews.com/education/community-colleges/east-arkansas-community-college-CC02486].
