Ek Veer Ki Ardaas... Veera (English: A Brother's Prayer... Veera) is an Indian television soap opera, that aired from Star Plus.[1] The entire series is available on Hotstar. The series premiered on 29 October 2012 and ended on 8 August 2015. It starred Digangana Suryavanshi, Shivin Narang, Vishal Vashishtha, and Farnaz Shetty, replacing child actors Harshita Ojha, Bhavesh Balchandani, and Arishfa Khan respectively after a 15 year leap.[2] A dubbed version of the serial was telecast in Tamil Language as En Anbu Thangaikku on Vijay TV, but was discontinued after only 400 episodes were broadcast.{{cn|date=July 2018}}

Plot summary

Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera revolves around a 5 year-old boy named, Ranvijay "Ranvi" Singh (Bhavesh Balchandani) and his half-sister, Veera Singh (Nishika).

The story begins with a man named, Sampooran Singh (Sudhanshu Pandey), who is the sarpanch of the village of Pritampura, and lives there with his wife Ratanjeet "Ratan" Kaur (Sneha Wagh), their son Ranvi and Sampooran's aunt, Chai Ji (Shagufta Ali).

Soon, Ratan learns that Sampooran has a daughter with an another woman named, Amrita Kaur (Aastha Chaudhary). Ashamed and guilty for cheating on his beloved wife, Sampooran sadly leaves. Amrita also leaves after Ratan insults her, leaving her infant daughter on Ratan's doorstep. Ranvi, not knowing about Sampooran and Amrita, accepts and cares for Sampooran and Amrita's daughter, naming her Veera. While the heartbroken Ratan despises her, Ranvijay tries to singlehandedly raise his half-sister.

5 years later

Veera (Harshita Ojha) is now a very naughty 5 year-old girl. She constantly picks fights with older kids, especially her school student named, Baldev Singh (Devish Ahuja). Ratan still despises her, but Ranvi adores her. She is also the best friend of Baldev's sister named, Gunjan Singh (Kalyani Badeka).

A stranger named, Nihaal Singh (Kapil Nirmal) comes to Ranvi's house, on the pretence of being Sampooran's friend. Ranvi and Veera get very close to Nihaal and even try to get Ratan married to him. Nihaal reveals he is part of the reason Sampooran has died, and Ranvi banishes him from the village. Nihaal leaves Pritampura and the Singh's household.

When Ranvi and Veera take a trip to the city and see the very advanced schools, Ranvi wishes to send Veera there and give her the best education possible. Ranvi tearfully bids goodbye to Veera, as she goes to her new school in the city.

15 years later

Veera (Digangana Suryavanshi) has now grown-up and returns to Pritampura after completing her education in the city. Ranvi (Shivin Narang), Gunjan (Farnaz Shetty), and Baldev (Vishal Vashishtha) are also grown-up. Ranvi had not pursued any higher education, and works in his family's farm, despite having a voice that could win over a nation. Gunjan has become a superficial girly girl, who only cares about her looks and marrying rich. Baldev good-for-nothing happy-go-lucky small goon in Pritampura, who only can be brought down by Veera. Veera tries to use her higher education to better the farmlands of her village to complete her father's dream project. She brings her friend, Karan Khanna (Ankit Bathla), from the city who helps her. Eventually, Veera falls in love with Karan. Unfortunately, Karan is bought over buy rich people from the city and breaks the trust of the villagers and Veera. He is sent out and Veera starts to work alone to complete the project.

Under unfortunate circumstances, Gunjan is forced to marry Ranvi. She plans to get some money together and run away to Canada, but gets cheated by a travel company that steals her money. She eventually falls for Ranvi and all goes well. Gunjan also takes revenge on Veera, by revealing to her of her parentage, which the whole village already knows. When Veera decides to leave, Ratan is the one to stop her and finally accepts Veera as her daughter. Baldev somehow falls in love with Veera, and when Veera goes to Europe to learn new farming methods, she and Baldev get closer. There Veera meets Nihaal and tries to bring him back to Pritampura. When they come back to Pritampura, Veera proposes to Baldev and they start their own relationship. Ranvi gets an opportunity to become a recording artist and even wins a singing competition.

Gunjan and Ranvi move to the city, and Gunjan loves her new life as a modern, city girl. While Gunjan loves the city life, Ranvi longs to go back to his village. Eventually, Gunjan & Ranvi come back, much to Gunjan's chagrin. Gunjan becomes pregnant, but loses the baby when she is at dance practice. This brings a distance in Ranvi and Gunjan's relationship. Eventually, Gunjan finds out about Baldev and Veera's love, but totally approves of their relationship. Baldev and Veera try to convince their respective families, but Ranvi and Bansuri (Vishavpreet Kaur), Gunjan & Baldev's mother, seem to be their main enemies.

Now, Ranvi thinks Baldev is a lazy person who knows no responsibility and will not take care of his sister. While, Bansuri has never liked Veera since she was a kid, due to her antics.

Ranvi decides to get Veera married to Pritampura's new resident police officer, Rajveer Thakur (Vivek Dahiya). But when, Baldev and Veera are able to convince their families for their wedding, Rajveer goes crazy in his love for Veera. Rajveer kills Nihaal and blames it on Baldev, who goes to jail on the eve of his wedding. He is badly beaten and Ranvi once again hates him. When Baldev is released, he and Veera elope and get married in a mandir. Ranvi gets mad at Veera and does not talk to her.

Baldev and Veera have a fight, in which Baldev starts to act mean with Veera, and she tries to hide this from her brother. Eventually, all becomes well with Baldev and Veera. Then enters Baldev & Gunjan's aunt named, Manjeet Singh (Usha Bachani), with her widowed daughter-in-law, Geet Singh (Keerti Nagpure), and granddaughter, Deepu Singh (Vrudhi Jakra), to Baldev's house. Geet starts to become close with Ranvi, who reminds him of a younger Veera and still longs for a child. Gunjan gets jealous of the relationship between Geet and Ranvi.

Many terrorists get into Pritampura and in order tosave the village, Ratan takes the bomb and dies. Manjeet gets Geet married to a goon, whom Ranvi, Gunjan, Baldev, and Veera all send to jail along with Manjeet. The shows ends on Rakhi, when Ranvi and Veera tie Rakhi's to each other and Veera reveals she is pregnant. She tells Ranvi that she is going to give the child to him.
