It is found in the Japanese island of Honshu and Kyushu [1] and in Taiwan.[2] The length of the forewings is 2.9-3.1 mm for males and 3-3.5 mm for females. The forewings are black-brownish with silvery markings. The larvae feed on Miscanthus sinensis. They mine the leaves of their host plant. The mine is full-depth and straight-linear. Pupation takes place outside of the mine.[3] References1. ^Japanese Moths {{Wikispecies}}{{Commons}}{{Taxonbar|from=Q5352856}}{{Elachistidae-stub}}2. ^TaiBNET - Catalogue of Life of Taiwan 3. ^{{aut|Sugisima, K.}}, 2005: A revision of the Elachista praelineata group (Lepidoptera: Elachistidae) in Japan, with comments on morphology of the pupa in Elachista.
