It is found along the coast of south-eastern New South Wales.[1] The wingspan is {{convert|8.4|-|9.7|mm}} for males and {{convert|7.8|-|9.8|mm}} for females. The forewings are brown, powdered with dark brownish grey-tipped scales. The hindwings are grey. The larvae feed on Gahnia melanocarpa. They mine the leaves of their host plant. The mine is straight and reaches a length of about {{convert|250|mm}}. Pupation takes place outside of the mine.
