释义 |
HistoryElrod was originally called Ida.[2][3] The community's present name is for Samuel H. Elrod, a personal friend of the original owner of the town site; Samuel Elrod later served as Governor of South Dakota from 1905 to 1907.[3][4] A post office was established as Ida in 1883, renamed Elrod in 1884, and the post office was discontinued in 1954.[5] References1. ^{{GNIS|1265203}} {{Clark County, South Dakota}}{{coord|44|53|11|N|97|34|25|W|type:city_region:US-SD_source:GNIS-enwiki|display=title}}{{SouthDakota-geo-stub}}2. ^{{cite book|author=Federal Writers' Project|title=South Dakota place-names, v.1-3|url=http://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015027015455;view=1up;seq=103|archive-url=https://archive.is/20160809131742/http://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015027015455;view=1up;seq=103|dead-url=yes|archive-date=2016-08-09|year=1940|publisher=University of South Dakota|page=36}} 3. ^1 {{cite book | url=https://books.google.com/books?id=OspBAQAAMAAJ&pg=PA68 | title=A History of the Origin of the Place Names Connected with the Chicago & North Western and Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha Railways | author=Chicago and North Western Railway Company | year=1908 | page=68}} 4. ^{{cite book|last=Kingsbury|first=George Washington|title=South Dakota: Its History and Its People|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=3jNEAQAAMAAJ&pg=PA85|year=1915|publisher=S.
