She is also a third eldest sister of Muhammad Akbar Nasution, an elite breaststroke and medley swimmer, who competed with her at the Olympics as part of the Indonesian squad.[2][3] Nasution is divorced from her husband Ricky Subagja, a prominent badminton player and 1996 Olympic doubles champion.[4] Nasution competed only in the women's 100 m backstroke at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She achieved a FINA B-cut of 1:05.69 from the Asian Championships in Busan, South Korea.[5][6] She challenged seven other swimmers in heat two, including teenagers Sherry Tsai of Hong Kong (aged 17) and Kuan Chia-hsien of Chinese Taipei. Keeping her pace from the start, she shared a fifth seed with Uruguay's Serrana Fernández in a matching time of 1:06.57, almost a full second below her entry standard. Nasution failed to advance into the semifinals, as she placed thirty-eighth overall in the prelims.[7][8] At the 2003 Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, Nasution earned a bronze medal in the 100 m backstroke with a time of 1:07.38, finishing over two body lengths behind defending champion Chonlathorn Vorathamrong of Thailand.[9] References1. ^{{cite sports-reference|Elsa Manora Nasution|https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/na/elsa-manora-nasution-1.html|17 June 2013}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Nasution, Elsa Manora}}{{Indonesia-swimming-bio-stub}}2. ^{{cite news|last=Gardner|first=Michelle|title=International waters: Nasution becomes JC champ after Olympic career|url=http://www.sbsun.com/sports/ci_9165313?source=rss|publisher=The San Bernardino Sun|date=5 May 2008|accessdate=5 June 2013}}{{dead link|date=September 2017 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Swimmers to train in Bali for Olympics|url=http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/1999/08/27/swimmers-train-bali-olympics.html|publisher=The Jakarta Post|location=Jakarta|date=27 August 1999|accessdate=5 June 2013|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20151118103254/http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/1999/08/27/swimmers-train-bali-olympics.html|archivedate=18 November 2015|df=}} 4. ^{{cite news|title=Rexy to coach English team starting in 2001 |url=http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2000/10/19/rexy-coach-english-team-starting-2001.html |publisher=The Jakarta Post |location=Jakarta |date=19 October 2000 |accessdate=17 June 2013 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20141205164351/http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2000/10/19/rexy-coach-english-team-starting-2001.html |archivedate=5 December 2014 |df= }} 5. ^{{cite web|title=Swimming – Women's 100m Backstroke Startlist (Heat 2)|url=http://www.omegatiming.com/File/Download?id=000100060037000000FFFFFFFFFFFF00|format=PDF|work=Sydney 2000|publisher=Omega Timing|accessdate=14 June 2013}} 6. ^{{cite news|title=More swimmers eye Olympics |url=http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2000/06/02/more-swimmers-eye-olympics.html |publisher=The Jakarta Post |location=Jakarta |date=2 June 2000 |accessdate=17 June 2013 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160304204914/http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2000/06/02/more-swimmers-eye-olympics.html |archivedate= 4 March 2016 |df= }} 7. ^{{cite web|title=Sydney 2000: Swimming – Women's 100m Backstroke Heat 2 |url=http://www.la84foundation.org/6oic/OfficialReports/2000/Masters/sw/SWresults.pdf |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110819181023/http://la84foundation.org/6oic/OfficialReports/2000/Masters/sw/SWresults.pdf |dead-url=yes |archive-date=19 August 2011 |format=PDF |work=Sydney 2000 |publisher=LA84 Foundation |page=287 |accessdate=26 April 2013 }} 8. ^{{cite news|title=Dolan breaks own world mark in 400 IM|url=http://www.canoe.ca/2000GamesSwimming/sep17_dol.html|publisher=Canoe.ca|date=17 September 2000|accessdate=28 May 2013}} 9. ^{{cite news|title=Singaporean swimmer clinches 13th SEA Games gold|url=http://www.ibiblio.org/obl/docs/NLM2003-12-10.pdf|publisher=New Light of Myanmar|location=Yangon|date=10 December 2003|accessdate=17 June 2013}} 10 : 1977 births|Living people|People of Batak descent|Indonesian female swimmers|Olympic swimmers of Indonesia|Swimmers at the 2000 Summer Olympics|Female backstroke swimmers|Sportspeople from Jakarta|Southeast Asian Games medalists in swimming|Southeast Asian Games bronze medalists for Indonesia |
