It is situated in the Toros Mountains and extreme east of the province. At {{coord|37|13|N|34|57|E}} it is about {{convert|55|km}} to Tarsus and {{convert|85|km}} to Mersin. The population of village was 181 [1] as of 2012. According to oral tradition the village was founded by a tribe from Turkestan.
