While residing in the United States, Crescimbeni claimed the 2007 Florida High School state championship title in his signature events, and later served as a member of the Florida Gators swimming and diving team under head coach Gregg Troy.[2] Crescimbeni competed as Peru's lone male swimmer in the 200 m butterfly at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.[3] He scored a ninth-place time in 2:01.09 to clear the FINA B-cut (2:01.80) at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.[4] Swimming in heat one, Crescimbeni held off a hard-charging Javier Hernández Maradiaga of Honduras by a tenth of a second (0.1) to snatch the third spot in 2:02.13. Crescimbeni failed to advance to the semifinals, as he placed forty-first overall in the prelims.[5][6] References1. ^{{cite sports-reference|Emmanuel Crescimbeni|https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/cr/emmanuel-crescimbeni-1.html|26 November 2012}} 2. ^{{cite news|title=Florida Swim & Dive Sweeps FAU Saturday|url=http://www.wctv.tv/sports/headlines/37780709.html|publisher=WCTV|date=17 January 2009|accessdate=20 May 2013}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Perú solo llevaría 15 atletas a las Olimpiadas Pekín 2008 |trans-title=Peru has taken 15 athletes to the 2008 Beijing Olympics |language=es |url=http://peru21.pe/noticia/58550/peru-solo-llevaria-15-atletas-olimpiadas-pekin-2008 |publisher=Perú.21 |date=18 January 2008 |accessdate=5 April 2016 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160416195956/http://peru21.pe/noticia/58550/peru-solo-llevaria-15-atletas-olimpiadas-pekin-2008 |archivedate=16 April 2016 |df= }} 4. ^{{cite web|title=Olympic Cut Sheet – Men's 200m Butterfly|url=http://magazines.swimmingworld.com:9997/SPIPDF/080508olyscutsheet.pdf|format=PDF|page=37|publisher=Swimming World Magazine|accessdate=9 April 2013}} 5. ^{{cite web |title=Swimming: Men's 200m Butterfly Heat 1 |url=http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/swimming/resultsandschedules/rsc=SWM022900/index.html |work=Beijing 2008 |publisher=NBC Olympics |accessdate=18 January 2013 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120821002412/http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/swimming/resultsandschedules/rsc%3DSWM022900/index.html |archivedate=21 August 2012 |df= }} 6. ^{{cite news|title=Nadador Emmanuel Crescimbeni se despidió de Beijing al quedar tercero en competencia|trans-title=Swimmer Emmanuel Crescimbeni bids farewell to Beijing after finishing third in his heat|language=es|url=http://www.andina.com.pe/agencia/noticia-nadador-emmanuel-crescimbeni-se-despidio-beijing-al-quedar-tercero-competencia-188735.aspx|publisher=Andina|date=11 August 2008|accessdate=5 April 2016}} External links
