It grows on mountains and glacial moraines in Xinjiang, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Siberia.[2]Erigeron schmalhausenii is a perennial, clumping-forming herb up to 45 cm (18 inches) tall, forming a thick woody rhizomes.
