He finished only in tenth place by 2.5 kilograms short of his record from Spain's Santiago Martínez, with a total of 380 kg (175 in the snatch and 205 in the clean and jerk). At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Bratan qualified for the second time in the men's 94 kg class, after winning the bronze medal in the snatch from the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand.[4] Bratan placed thirteenth in this event, as he successfully lifted 170 kg in the single-motion snatch, and hoisted 200 kg in the two-part, shoulder-to-overhead clean and jerk, for a total of 370 kg.[5] References1. ^{{cite Sports-Reference |title=Eugen Bratan |url=https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/br/eugen-bratan-1.html |accessdate=28 January 2013 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20130207130257/http://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/br/eugen-bratan-1.html |archivedate=7 February 2013 |df= }} 2. ^{{cite news|last=Strossen|first=Randall|title=Szymon Kolecki: Three Golds|url=http://www.ironmind.com/ironmind/opencms/Articles/2007/Apr/Szymon_Kolecki_Three_Golds.html|publisher=Iron Mind|date=21 April 2007|accessdate=28 January 2013}} 3. ^{{cite Sports-Reference |check-wikidata=no |title=Alexandru Bratan |url=https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/br/alexandru-bratan-1.html |accessdate=28 January 2013}} 4. ^{{cite news|last=Strossen|first=Randall|title=Konstantinov Wins the 94s|url=http://www.ironmind.com/ironmind/opencms/Articles/2007/Sep/Konstantinov_Wins_the_94s.html|publisher=Iron Mind|date=23 September 2007|accessdate=28 January 2013}} 5. ^{{cite news|title=Men's 94kg (207 lbs) |url=http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/weightlifting/resultsandschedules/rsc=WLM094000/standings.html |publisher=NBC Olympics |accessdate=28 January 2013 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120730233619/http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/weightlifting/resultsandschedules/rsc%3DWLM094000/standings.html |archivedate=30 July 2012 |df= }} External links
