The Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition (FIDASE) was an aerial survey of the Falkland Islands Dependencies and the Antarctic peninsula which took place in the 1955–56 and 1956–57 southern summers. Funded by the Colonial Office and organised by Peter Mott, the survey was carried out by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd.[1][2] It was based at Deception Island, using the Oluf Sven, two Canso flying-boats and several helicopters.[3][4] The photographic collection, held by the British Antarctic Survey as the United Kingdom Antarctic Mapping Centre, comprises about 12,800 frames taken on 26,700 kilometres of ground track.[5] References1. ^Wings Over Ice: The Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition {{ISBN|0951169904}} 2. ^{{cite journal|doi=10.1111/j.1477-9730.1958.tb01083.x | volume=2 | title=THE FALKLAND ISLANDS AND DEPENDENCIES AERIAL SURVEY EXPEDITION | year=2006 | journal=The Photogrammetric Record | pages=309–329 | last1 = Mott | first1 = P.
