}} The FAO Agricultural Development Assistance Mapping tool, better known as ADAM, has been developed by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization to provide information on the resource mobilization environment for a particular country or group of countries. It shows where Overseas Development Assistance is being directed, by whom, and where there may be synergies between the priorities of the recipient country, FAO and donors. What is more, ADAM allows users to determine FAO comparative advantages, and offers information which may help as a first step to the formulation of resource mobilization strategies. BackgroundFocused prioritization of resource partners’ interventions in developing countries has become a prerequisite to improving development assistance in line with country development objectives. As FAO began to develop its Country Programming Frameworks as a means to set out those areas of work where FAO would work towards priorities outlined by national governments, the Organization sought to build a tool that could align areas of priority interest for governments with areas where donors were spending considerable sums. FeaturesADAM contains three sections "ADAM View", "Resource Partner Matrices" and "Resource Partner Profiles".[1] ADAM ViewADAM View displays Overseas Development Assistance information in a simple and easy-to-use format. The user is presented with a global view, but can narrow their search according to the following: recipient region or country, individual resource partner or thematic area. A Venn diagram at the bottom of the page also allows users to see where national priorities overlap with FAO and resource partner priorities. For those requiring more detail, ADAM can calculate FAO’s comparative advantage, as well as detailing all those projects that have been ongoing in the chosen location for your selected time period. Resource Partner MatrixThe second view available is the Resource Partner Matrix, which provides even more in-depth analysis than ADAM View. Users can analyse disbursements versus commitments, and can export the desired data into Excel for a comprehensive overview. Resource Partner ProfilesFinally, there are the Resource Partner Profiles. The profiles contain information ranging from resource partner priorities to the administrative processes required should you be interested in follow-up.
