The Fengcheng Reservoir ({{zh|s=风城水库|p=Fēngchéng shuǐkù}}) is a reservoir on the Irtysh–Karamay Canal in China's Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region. It is about 15 km north of the main urban area of Urho District of Karamay City;[1] administratively, the location is near the border of Urho District and Hoboksar Mongol Autonomous County. Located in the "tail" part of the Irtysh-Karamay Canal, the main function of the reservoir is to control the water flow along the canal. Its volume can vary from the minimum of 8 million m3 to the maximum of 100 million m3; at the highest water level, the reservoir area is 6.2 km2. The lowest water level is 445 m above the sea level.[1] The reservoir sits in a natural depression, surrounded by dams in most directions. It was constructed in 1998–2000.[2] Notes1. ^1 {{cite|title=风城水库大坝安全监测资料分析 (The Fengcheng Reservoir dam safety monitoring data analysis)|url=http://wenku.baidu.com/view/052762c10c22590102029d2f.html|author=Wu Hongyuan (吴洪源)|date=2005-06-20|volume=29|issue=3|journal=水电自动化和监测 Hydropower Automation and Dam Monitoring|pages=77–79|display-authors=etal}} {{xinjiang-geo-stub}}{{coord|46|13|00|N|85|38|00|E|display=title|region:CN-62_type:landmark}}2. ^风城水库 (Fengcheng Reservoir) 2 : Dams in China|Dams completed in 2000 |
