It was released on October 1, 2013, on CD, LP and digitally. It was the band's first album of new material in six years, after Bambi's Dilemma in 2007. The recording sessions for the album had to be postponed due to the Tohoku earthquake and the aftermath of the subsequent meltdown at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
