Publication historyThe firedrake first appeared in the original first edition Fiend Folio (1981).[1] The firedrake appeared in the second edition in the Monstrous Compendium Fiend Folio Appendix (1992),[2] and appeared under the "dragonet" entry in the Monstrous Manual (1993).[3] DescriptionA firedrake is similar in appearance to a young red dragon, but is not as intelligent or as powerful as a true dragon. A firedrake will respond with its flame breath whenever something disturbs it.
