Florence De Jong (née Baga) (1894-1990) was a theatre and cinema organist. De Jong was born in Holborn, London and learned piano at school.[1] She had three sisters, all professional musicians, as was their father.[1] The youngest sister, Ena Baga, was also an organist, billed as "Queen of the Keyboard".[2] As well as cinemas, she also played on cruise liners.[1] She appeared as a "castaway" on the BBC Radio programme Desert Island Discs on 7 April 1973.[1] Olivier Award winner Martyn Jacques, of the band Tiger Lillies, was her pupil, and has dedicated a performance to her memory.[3]References1. ^1 2 3 {{cite web |url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/desert-island-discs/castaway/f6273da2#p009n93g |title=Desert Island Discs - Castaway : Florence De Jong |work=BBC Online |publisher=BBC |accessdate=14 August 2014}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.thestage.co.uk/people/obituaries/2004/08/ena-baga/|title=Ena Baga|work=The Stage|accessdate=14 August 2014}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.thejournal.co.uk/culture/film-news/screening-silent-film-classic-brings-7590294|title=Screening of silent film classic brings Tiger Lillies frontman to Heaton Park|last=Wonfor|first=Sam|date=10 Aug 2014|work=The Journal|accessdate=14 August 2014}} External links
