BackgroundFocus X is the group's first studio album in six years. The album features Menno Gootjes on guitar, replacing Niels van der Steenhoven, who played guitar on the ensemble's previous album Focus 9 / New Skin (2009). The Japanese edition contains two bonus tracks, "Santa Teresa", and a live version of the band's successful 1971 single, "Hocus Pocus". The album generally received positive reviews. The cover art is designed and painted by Roger Dean.[7]Track listing{{tracklist| headline = | title1 = Father Bacchus | writer1 = Menno Gootjes | length1 = 4:04 | title2 = Focus 10 | writer2 = Thijs van Leer | length2 = 5:48 | title3 = Victoria | writer3 = van Leer | length3 = 5:28 | title4 = Amok In Kindergarten | writer4 = van Leer | length4 = 5:00 | title5 = All Hens On Deck | writer5 = van Leer | length5 = 5:45 | title6 = Birds Come Fly Over (Le Tango) | writer6 = van Leer, Roselie Peters | length6 = 5:26 | title7 = Hoeratio | note7 = Words: Horatius, taken from "Ars Poetica" | writer7 = Bobby Jacobs | length7 = 5:38 | title8 = Talk Of The Clown | writer8 = van Leer | length8 = 2:59 | title9 = Message Magique | writer9 = Ben van der Linden | length9 = 3:53 | title10 = Crossroads | writer10 = van Leer, Peters | length10 = 5:39 }}{{tracklist | headline = Japanese edition bonus tracks | title11 = Santa Teresa | writer11 = van Leer | length11 = 5:59 | title12 = Hocus Pocus (live) | writer12 = van Leer, Jan Akkerman | length12 = 17:30 }} Personnel
