Early life and educationHolden is a native of Dallas, Texas. She grew up singing in church and studied piano from an early age. When in high school, she was awarded the Paderewski Medal for piano. She later majored in piano and voice and studied privately with teachers from the Juilliard School. Her family hobby was exhibiting show dogs and she showed at Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show while just a teenager. She was discovered in New York City by a talent agent, which led to her becoming the Breck Girl. She enjoyed a hugely successful modeling career, appearing in numerous television commercials such as Ivory Soap, Dentyne, Kelloggs Chevrolet, Playtex, Arrid, Gillette, and many more . CareerActingWhile continuing voice studies in New York, Holden became a model best known as "the Breck Girl".[3] She went on to model on magazine covers and to film national commercials such as for Ivory Soap, Dentyne, Kellogg's, Chevrolet, Gillette, Playtex, Arrid, and 7 Up.[4] Rebecca guest-starred on primetime shows such as [{The Love Boat]], Magnum, P.I., Matt Houston, Three's Company, Taxi, Night Court, Mike Hammer, Remington Steele, Matt Houston, Barney Miller, Mike Hammer, Quincy, TJ Hooker, Police Squad and others.[4] She then joined the cast of the TV series Knight Rider in the series regular role of April Curtis during the show's second season (1983–1984). Knight Rider has appeared in syndication in over 200 countries throughout the world. She played the diabolical Elena on ABC's soap opera General Hospital, and later moved to Tennessee to help care for her ill sister. During this period she appeared in many stage plays and musicals such as the role of Nancy in "Oliver" and Lola in "Damn Yankees". Holden starred in a production of Baby, the Musical at the Boiler Room Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee [5] In 2015, Holden starred in the feature Hollywouldn'ts, and also had a lead role in a pilot for Comedy Central.{{citation needed|date=January 2018}} She was co-host of the TNN dance show Dancin' at the Hot Spots in 1993. Her duet with grammy winning gospel singer Jason Crabb is the end credit song on her new film, "Canaan Land" in which she plays the role of a singing evangelist.
