Farina was first elected in 2012, and was sworn-in on January 2, 2013. He defeated former Lackawanna County commissioner Randy Castellani by 110 votes in the Democratic primary to secure the party's nomination.[3] He defeated Republican Theresa Kane in the general election.[4] Farina served on the Environmental Resources & Energy Committee, the Game & Fisheries Committee, and the Tourism & Recreational Development Committee. After Pennsylvania's 115th House District was moved from Lackawanna and Wayne Counties to Monroe County during redistricting, Farina ran for the 112th District, then represented by Kevin Haggerty. Farina defeated Haggerty in the 2014 Democratic primary and went on to win the general election. Haggerty and Farina faced each other again in the 2016 Democratic primary, with Haggerty ultimately winning the rematch by 329 votes.[5] References1. ^{{cite web |title = SESSION OF 2015 - 199TH OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY - No. 1|work = Legislative Journal| publisher = Pennsylvania House of Representatives |date = 2015-01-06|url = http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/HJ/2015/0/20150106.pdf}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Farina, Frank}}2. ^http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/BiosHistory/MemBio.cfm?ID=2437&body=H 3. ^In apparent upset, Farina nominated in 115th - News - The Times-Tribune 4. ^NEPA sends new faces to Harrisburg - News - The Times-Tribune 5. ^{{cite news|url=http://wnep.com/2016/04/26/incumbent-frank-farina-concedes-haggerty-to-take-112th-race/|title=Incumbent Frank Farina Concedes, Haggerty to Take 112th Race|last=Lange|first=Stacey|date=April 26, 2016|publisher=WNEP.com|accessdate=October 27, 2017|location=Jessup, Pennsylvania}} 4 : Pennsylvania Democrats|Living people|21st-century American politicians|1976 births |
