BiographyBorn in Birmingham on 13 June 1859, he was ordained to the priesthood on 20 October 1882. He was appointed the Bishop of the Diocese of Northampton on 5 February 1908. His consecration to the Episcopate took place on 25 February 1908; the principal consecrator was Cardinal Francis Bourne, Archbishop of Westminster, and the principal co-consecrators were Bishop George Burton of Clifton and Bishop Joseph Cowgill of Leeds.
