词条 | Gabit |
释义 |
In Goa, they are distinct from the Kharvi community found mostly in the south of that state, although they share a similar traditional occupation. The Gabits are primarily a fishing community and are concentrated in the northern talukas of Canacona, Pernem and Salcete. They are Hindus and generally live in joint family arrangements, although a movement towards the nuclear family is evident.[1] References1. ^1 {{cite book |title=Fishes & Fisheries|editor1-first=Rekha R. |editor1-last=Gaonkar |editor2-first=Maria D.C. |editor2-last=Rodrigues |editor3-first=R.B. |editor3-last=Patil |publisher=APH Publishing |year=2006 |isbn=978-8-13130-035-0|pages=247–248 |chapter=The Fisherfolk Movement in Goa: A Conflict between Tradition and Modernity}} Further reading
