He has also starred in the feature movie Hello Herman'[2] He appeared commercials for Subaru,[3] AT&T, Pepsi, Shoot & Shatter and How To Train Your Dragon DVD Release. Early lifeBackstrom was born in Burbank, California, and is of Swedish descent. He was a gymnast (two-time state champion). Garrett utilized his athletic abilities and performed many of his own stunts. Before becoming an actor Backstrom wanted to be a stuntman.[4] CareerBackstroms's first film appearance was an uncredited role as a boy known as 'Boy #1' in the 2010 short film My First Claire. He appeared in short film The Perfect Hurl as Tommy Kettelson. In 2011 Backstrom landed the lead role in Hello Herman along with the role of Andrew in the TV series Brothers & Sisters. In 2012 he appeared on Jessie as Vincent, his breakthrough role and on Lab Rats as Ethan, Bree's love interest. He starred in The Motel Life as Jerry Lee. Backstrom is currently working on Summer Snow as David Benson. Filmography
