He represented the electoral district of Kings County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1953 to 1956. He was a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Nova Scotia.[1] Born in 1891 at Chicago, Illinois, Boggs was educated at Dartmouth College, and Magdalen College, Oxford.[2] He married Evelyn Starr, who died in 1923 and then Helen Pipon Starr in February 1925.[2] A fruit grower by career, Boggs moved to Nova Scotia in 1925.[2] He served as president of the Nova Scotia Fruit Growers' Association, and warden of St. John's Anglican Church, Wolfville.[2] Boggs entered provincial politics in 1953, when he was elected in the dual-member riding of Kings County with Progressive Conservative Edward Haliburton.[3] In the 1956 election, Boggs was defeated when he ran for re-election in the newly established Kings North riding, losing to Liberal Eric Balcom by 45 votes.[4] Boggs died at Halifax, Nova Scotia on November 9, 1968.[2] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://nslegislature.ca/pdfs/about/ConstituencyHistories/kings%20north.pdf|title=Electoral History for Kings North|publisher=Nova Scotia Legislative Library|accessdate=2015-05-03}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Boggs, George Arthur}}{{ProgressiveConservative-NovaScotia-MLA-stub}}2. ^1 2 3 4 {{cite book|last1=Elliott|first1=Shirley B.|title=The Legislative Assembly of Nova Scotia, 1758–1983 : a biographical directory|url=http://0-nsleg-edeposit.gov.ns.ca.legcat.gov.ns.ca/deposit/b10537582.pdf|accessdate=2018-05-15|year=1984|publisher=Public Archives of Nova Scotia|isbn=0-88871-050-X|page=18}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://electionsnovascotia.ca/sites/default/files/General%20Election%201953.pdf|title=Returns of General Election for the House of Assembly 1953|publisher=Elections Nova Scotia|year=1953|page=47|accessdate=2015-05-03}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://electionsnovascotia.ca/sites/default/files/General%20Election%201956.pdf|title=Returns of General Election for the House of Assembly 1956|publisher=Elections Nova Scotia|year=1956|page=51|accessdate=2015-05-03}} 4 : 1891 births|1968 deaths|Progressive Conservative Association of Nova Scotia MLAs|People from Kings County, Nova Scotia |
