He is married to Blandine Favre-Gilly, an attorney at law, and has three children: Paul, Adrien, and Marie.[1] He has been chairman and chief executive officer of the Legrand Group since 17 March 2006. CareerHaving graduated from HEC Paris in 1981, Gilles Schnepp began his career in 1983 at Merrill Lynch France.[2] He moved from the world of finance to industry in 1989 by joining Legrand. Having served as deputy chief financial officer and later as CFO, he became vice-chairman and chief executive officer of Legrand in 2004, succeeding François Grappotte.[3] In 2006, he took on the role of chairman and CEO. IncomeIn 2009, Gilles Schnepp's income of one million euros was ranked 75th among the main French senior executives.[4] Other functions and directorshipsGilles Schnepp has been a member, representing Wendel, of the Board of Directors of Saint-Gobain since June 2009.[5] He is a member of the Executive Committee of GIMELEC,[6] and of the Board of Directors of Promotelec,[7] and chairman of FIEEC (French Federation of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Industries) since July 2013.[8] He was elected vice-chairman of the Silver Economy industry strategic committee in July 2013.[9] HonoursIn 2007, Gilles Schnepp was awarded France's Legion of Honour, receiving the title of Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur.[10] In 2012, Officer in the French National Order of Merit (France).[11] MiscellaneousGilles Schnepp enjoys tennis, and takes an interest in antiques and decoration.{{Citation needed|reason=no reliable sources|date=February 2017}} External links
