The lake is sometimes considered a part of the Khushal Sar lake but is separated from it by a narrow strait, which is spanned by a bridge known as Gil Kadal. The Gilsar lake is connected to the Nigeen lake via the Nallah Amir Khan.[1][2] References1. ^{{cite news|title=Gilsar battles for survival |url=http://wap.greaterkashmir.com/news/news/gilsar-lake-battles-for-survival/158896.html |date=18 Nov 2013 |accessdate=21 Mar 2015 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20150713202922/http://wap.greaterkashmir.com/news/news/gilsar-lake-battles-for-survival/158896.html |archivedate=2015-07-13 |df= }} {{Hydrography of Jammu and Kashmir}}{{Kashmir Valley}}{{JammuKashmir-geo-stub}}2. ^{{cite news |title=Khushal Sar Breathing its last|url=http://www.greaterkashmir.com/news/gk-magazine/khushal-sar-breathing-its-last/157557.html| first=A.
