Mainly a central defender, he can also play as a right back or defensive midfielder. Club careerBorn in Burgos, Castile and León, Gonzalo made his debuts as a senior with lowly Peña Antonio José in 2003, moving to Segunda División B club Burgos CF a year later. On 15 July 2008, he moved to Real Oviedo also in the third level.[1] In July 2011, Gonzalo returned to Burgos,[2] appearing regularly but suffering relegation. He continued to compete in division three in the following seasons, representing Caudal Deportivo[3] and Real Avilés.[4] On 21 August 2014, Gonzalo signed a one-year deal with Albacete Balompié, freshly promoted to Segunda División.[5] Nine days later, aged 30, he played his first match as a professional, starting in a 1–1 away draw against CD Tenerife.[6] Gonzalo scored his first professional goal on 3 May 2015, netting the first in a 2–1 home win against FC Barcelona B.[7] References1. ^Gonzalo, del Burgos, es el tercer refuerzo del Oviedo (Gonzalo, from Burgos, is Oviedo's third signing); La Nueva España, 15 July 2008 (in Spanish) 2. ^El Burgos cierra el retorno de Gonzalo y ficha al delantero sub 23 José Vega (Burgos closes Gonzalo's return and signs under-23 forward José Vega); El Correo de Burgos, 16 July 2011 (in Spanish) 3. ^El Caudal ficha al defensa Gonzalo (Caudal signs defender Gonzalo); La Nueva España, 20 July 2012 (in Spanish) 4. ^Gonzalo se compromete con el Real Avilés (Gonzalo committs to Real Avilés); El Comercio, 13 July 2013 (in Spanish) 5. ^Gonzalo de la Fuente nuevo fichaje del Alba (Gonzalo de la Fuente new signing of Alba) {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140903083009/http://www.albacetebalompie.es/component/k2/item/2069-gonzalo-de-la-fuente-nuevo-fichaje-del-alba |date=2014-09-03 }}; Albacete Balompié, 21 August 2014 (in Spanish) 6. ^El Tenerife marca pero se le resiste la victoria (Tenerife scores but resists against victory); Marca, 30 August 2014 (in Spanish) 7. ^Gran paso hacia la salvación del Alba y hacia el descenso del filial (Big step towards survival of Alba and relegation of the reserves); Marca, 3 May 2015 (in Spanish) External links
