Grande Prairie School District No. 2357 or the Grande Prairie Public School District is a publicly funded school district serving approximately 8,000 students in grades P-12 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada since 1912.[1] GPPSD is responsible for delivering the Alberta provincial curriculum, as directed by the provincial ministry of education, Alberta Education.[2]TrusteesThe current Board of Trustees, elected in the last municipal election in 2013, are: Mr. John Lehners - Board Chair Ms. JoAnn Cazakoff - Vice Chair Mrs. Karen Prokopowich Mrs. Paulette Kurylo Mrs. Brenda Howard MissionThe Grande Prairie Public School District is a learning community in which every student succeeds.[3] Universal Guiding Principles" For everything the we decide and do, will hold ourselves accountable and we will ask: - Is it good for students?

SchoolsCurrently the Grande Prairie Public School District is composed of 17 schools. In addition, a new K-8 school (Roy Bickell Public School) is currently under construction in the Royal Oaks neighbourhood. As the City of Grande Prairie continues to grow, the Grande Prairie Public School has been growing along with it, moving from 14 to 17 and soon 18 schools in the last 2 years.[4] Attendance at GPPSD schools is determined by geographical attendance boundaries for all neighbourhood schools.
