It was built in 1859, and is a four-story, rectangular banked stuccoed fieldstone structure. It measures {{convert|42|ft}} by {{convert|45.5|ft}}, and has a gable roof.[3] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.[1] The current building stands on the site of earlier mills, the first dating from 1710. The mill ground flour until the late 20th century, when the flour business was moved to Berks County.[4] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania}}{{ChesterCountyPA-NRHP-stub}}2. ^{{cite web | title = PHMC Historical Markers | work =Historical Marker Database | publisher = Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission | url =http://search.pahistoricalmarkers.com/ | accessdate = December 20, 2013}} 3. ^{{cite web| url = http://www.arch.state.pa.us/| title = National Historic Landmarks & National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania| publisher = ARCH: Pennsylvania's Historic Architecture & Archaeology| format = Searchable database| accessdate = 2012-11-05}} Note: This includes {{cite web| url = {{NRHP-PA|H050892_01H.pdf}}| title = National Register of Historic Places Inventory Nomination Form: Great Valley Mill| accessdate = 2012-11-05| author =Anne Haon Cook| format = PDF| date= February 1982}} 4. ^Michelle Karas, "Great Valley Mills store gives customers the best ingredients for great bread", The Mercury News (Pottstown, Pa.), Feb. 25, 2002. 5 : Grinding mills on the National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania|Industrial buildings completed in 1859|Grinding mills in Chester County, Pennsylvania|Pennsylvania state historical marker significations|National Register of Historic Places in Chester County, Pennsylvania |
