It grows to between 0.3 and 2.6 metres in height. The red flowers usually appear from July to November in the species native range.[1] The species was formally described in 1904 by German botanist Ludwig Diels, based on plant material collected about 150 kilometres north of the Stirling Range.[2] It is similar in appearance to G. pilosa.[3] References1. ^1 {{FloraBase|name=Grevillea asteriscosa|id=1959}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q15576914}}{{Proteaceae-stub}}{{WesternAustralia-plant-stub}}{{Australia-eudicot-stub}}2. ^{{APNI | name = Grevillea asteriscosa| id = 44400 | accessdate=28 April 2014 }} 3. ^{{Flora of Australia Online|name=Grevillea asteriscosa|id=45681 }} 3 : Grevillea|Eudicots of Western Australia|Proteales of Australia |
