Ryan was a left-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born on Montserrat, the son of Robert Hixon.[1] Ryan first played for Montserrat against St Kitts in the 1970 Hesketh Bell Shield.[2] Having played for Montserrat throughout the 1970s, Ryan was selected in 1981 to represent the Leeward Islands, making two first-class appearances for the team against the Windward Islands at the Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, and against a touring England XI at Sturge Park on Montserrat.[3] In that same season, he made two List A appearances for the team Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica in the 1980/81 Geddes Grant/Harrison Line Trophy.[4] He continued to play minor matches for Montserrat to 1986, having made a total of fifteen recorded appearances for his home island.[2] In his later life, he worked as a civil servant on Montserrat. He died of cancer at Manchester, Lancashire, England, on 22 February 2012.[2] References1. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://www.mnialive.com/caribbean/montserrat/2055-tribute-to-haycene-chico-ryan.html|title=Tribute To Haycene 'Chico' Ryan|last=Owen|first=Roach|date=27 March 2012|publisher=www.mnialive.com|accessdate=14 October 2012}} 2. ^1 2 {{cite web|url=https://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Players/24/24106/Miscellaneous_Matches.html|title=Miscellaneous Matches played by Haycene Ryan|publisher=CricketArchive|accessdate=14 October 2012}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=https://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Players/24/24106/First-Class_Matches.html|title=First-Class Matches played by Haycene Ryan|publisher=CricketArchive|accessdate=14 October 2012}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=https://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Players/24/24106/List_A_Matches.html|title=List A Matches played by Haycene Ryan|publisher=CricketArchive|accessdate=14 October 2012}} External links
