It was subsequently placed in the genus Hibbertia.[3] Hibbertia empetrifolia occurs in forest and woodland in New South Wales and Victoria.[2]CultivationHibbertia empetrifolia is regarded as one of the best suited species of Hibbertia for cultivation, preferring a well-drained situation with some shade. It is frost resistant and withstands some dryness, but performs best with adequate moisture.[4]References1. ^{{cite book |title=Wild Plants of Victoria (database)|year=2009 |publisher=Viridans Biological Databases & Department of Sustainability and Environment}} {{Commons category|Hibbertia empetrifolia}}{{Taxonbar|from=Q16556713}}2. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=sp&name=Hibbertia~empetrifolia |title='Hibbertia empetrifolia|accessdate=18 March 2011 |author=|work= PlantNET - New South Wales Flora Online |publisher=Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust, Sydney Australia}} 3. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.anbg.gov.au/cgi-bin/apni?TAXON_NAME=Hibbertia+empetrifolia|title=Hibbertia empetrifolia |accessdate=18 March 2011 |work= Australian Plant Name Index (APNI), IBIS database|publisher = Centre for Plant Biodiversity Research, Australian Government, Canberra}} 4. ^{{cite book|author=Greig, D.| title=The Australian Gardener's Wildflower Catalogue| publisher=Angus & Robertson|location= Australia | year=1987 | isbn=0207154600}} 3 : Hibbertia|Flora of New South Wales|Flora of Victoria (Australia) |
