It is native to Europe,[1] and has also been found in Greenland.[2]Hieracium alpinum is an herb up to {{convert|25|cm|in|abbr=on}} tall, with leaves mostly in a rosette at the bottom. Leaves are lance-shaped, up to {{convert|8|cm|in|abbr=on}} long. One stalk will usually produce only one flower head, though occasionally 2 or 3. Each head has 80-120 yellow ray flowers but no disc flowers.[3] References1. ^Altervista Flora Italiana, Sparviere alpino, Hieracium alpinum L. includes photos, drawings, and European distribution map {{Taxonbar|from=Q3013859}}2. ^Biota of North America Program 2014 state-level distribution map 3. ^Flora of North America, Hieracium alpinum Linnaeus, 1753. 4 : Hieracium|Flora of Europe|Flora of Greenland|Plants described in 1753 |
