Serialized between 2004 and 2006 in Shueisha's Chorus magazine, the series was later compiled into a single volume in January 12, 2007.[1][2] It was later adapted into an anime television series, which premiered on April 3, 2009, directed by Atsushi Takeyama, written by Natsuko Takahashi and with music by Toshio Masuda. The anime adaptation later inspired the creation of a spin-off manga series, published in Ribon magazine.[3] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-01-28/higepiyo-4-panel-manga-from-ebichu-creator-gets-anime|title=Higepiyo 4-panel manga from Ebichu creator gets anime|publisher=Anime News Network|date=January 28, 2009|accessdate=June 23, 2013}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://books.shueisha.co.jp/CGI/search/syousai_put.cgi?isbn_cd=978-4-08-865381-5|title=Higepiyo|publisher=Shueisha|accessdate=June 23, 2013}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-04-11/higepiyo-anime-inspires-manga-in-ribon-mag|title=Higepiyo anime inspires manga in Ribon mag|publisher=Anime News Network|date=April 11, 2009|accessdate=June 23, 2013}} External links
