He served as the head coach for Davidson College's football and men's basketball teams as well as the school's athletic director.[1] Grey compiled overall records of 10–15–5 in football and 9–8 in basketball.[2][3] Grey attended Davidson, in 1917 receiving All-Southern honors for his play on the football team from selectors John Heisman and Dick Jemison. He was also an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin.[4] He also coached the Bailey Military Institute in South Carolina for the 1918-19 seasons.[5] He died while on vacation to visit a son in Venice, Florida in 1961.[6] Head coaching recordFootball{{CFB Yearly Record Start | type = coach | team = | conf = | bowl = | poll = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead| name = Davidson Wildcats | conf = Independent | startyear = 1920 | endyear = 1922 }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1920 | name = Davidson | overall = 5–5 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1921 | name = Davidson | overall = 3–4–3 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1922 | name = Davidson | overall = 2–6–2 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subtotal | name = Davidson | overall = 10–15–5 | confrecord = }}{{CFB Yearly Record End | overall = 10–15–5 | bowls = no | poll = no | polltype = | legend = no }} Basketball{{CBB Yearly Record Start | type = | conference = | postseason = | poll = }}{{CBB Yearly Record Subhead| name = Davidson Wildcats | conference = Independent | startyear = 1922 | endyear = 1923 }}{{CBB yearly record entry | championship = | season = 1922–23 | name = Davidson | overall = 9–8 | conference = | confstanding = | postseason = }}{{CBB Yearly Record Subtotal | name = Davidson | overall = 9–8 | confrecord = }}{{CBB Yearly Record End | overall = 9–8 | legend = no }} References1. ^{{cite web| title =Coaches| work =Quips and Cranks (page 130)| publisher =Davidson College| year=1922| url =http://www.e-yearbook.com/yearbooks/Davidson_College_Quips_and_Cranks_Yearbook/1922/Page_130.html| accessdate =July 25, 2013}} {{Davidson Wildcats athletic director navbox}}{{Davidson Wildcats football coach navbox}}{{Davidson Wildcats men's basketball coach navbox}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Grey, H.
